    Job Summary

    Academic Advising Technicians are part of the Advising Pre-Screening Team, responsible for students intake and triage. The prescreening team monitors intake queues, including in-person, phone, online, and email; assists students with scheduling appointments with advisors; assists students with general questions, and engages in outreach efforts.

      Essential Functions

      85% - Provides support for Academic Advisement at Pre-Screening Desk including placement in virtual queues (QLess,) scheduling student appointments with appropriate Field of Interest Advisors, and providing referrals to appropriate departments based on Field of Interest and service needed; answers general questions and schedules appointments via phone and email; adheres to applicable policies and procedures; provides general information and assistance to students, parents, faculty and staff regarding advising services and processes; answers general questions regarding advising, financial aid, international, veterans and testing along with other student services functions

      10% - Evaluates student needs and performs clerical and administrative office assistance; attends advisor training and/or other work related workshops to increase student support services skills; maintains communication with staff and student services departments

      5% - Performs other related duties as assigned

      Minimum Qualifications

      High school diploma or GED

      Desired Qualifications

      A. One (1) or more years of experience working within an enrollment services office, such as advising, admissions, records and registration, financial aid, international students, or veterans

      B. One (1) or more years of experience providing front-line customer service
