this position: -Apprentices are responsible for learning and
executing production processes to manufacture precision mechanics.
These will be parts of all levels of complexity. They will be
expected to run precision grinding machines to produce these parts.
-Apprentice Schedule:During a concurrent enrollment in a
certification Course, scheduling is Monday - Thursday schedule (9am
- 5pm for hands on learning at the plant & 6:30pm - 9:30pm for
class time)After completion of training, this will be a 2nd shift
position -Duties and Responsibilities:Operate precision grinding
equipment working from detailed drawings or blueprints to grind
parts to high quality finish specs.Must be able to read and follow
routers, work instructions, drawings, and other relevant
documentsMay include becoming proficient on multiple machine types
including lathes and millsPerform quality inspection of parts
throughout the manufacturing process using precision measuring
tools such as a laser ruler, micrometer, and electronic indicator
Must be able to read and understand blueprints, part identification
and record data in accordance with router, work instruction and
drawing instructionsPerform basic troubleshooting and basic
maintenance on grinding equipmentMaintain work chucks and fixtures
in a burr free condition and dress wheels as neededClean and
re-supply operating materials (i.e. oil, hoses, belts, changing
coolant, and filters as needed) and clean machines and work area on
a daily basisMust have strong Math SkillsMust have outstanding
communication skillsMust be conscientious and detailed orientedMust
be Safety orientedMust be willing to learn and operate other
grinding equipment -Working Conditions:Must be able to work on
one's feet for most of the shift -Education:GED or High school
diplomaPlans to enroll in school for an apprentice program within
the next enrollment period offered, -preferably concurrently
-Experience: -6+ months of machining experience preferred -This
