Schedule Available: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday
(full-time/40 hours per week)*Availability to work flexible 8 hours
based on client needs*Availability to serve on Emergency Cell Phone
on a rotating basisMomentum is currently hiring a Community Living
Specialist (CLS) to promote the individual rights of people living
with disabilities in Glendale, Burbank, and Pasadena. As a CLS,
you'll have the opportunity to help the people we support build
effective relationships and ties to their community. You will
provide instruction and support in living skills, identify and
facilitate access to community resources, and coordinate resources
as requested or required by people supported. Responsibilities also
include coordinating -Direct Support Professionals (DSP) who
support Momentum's people to accomplish daily living activities at
the person's home and/or in the local community. If you would like

Responsibilities: -
- Promotes a friendly, comfortable, and safe environment -
- Respects and promotes the right of individuals -
- Provide independent living skills training, support, and case
management services to individuals with disabilities in the
individual's own home and community - -
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of Direct Support
Professionals (DSP)
- Provide oversight; coordinates personal care, training, and
support to meet the goals and objectives of the individuals
supported
- Complete required paperwork, including notes, reports, logs,
etc.
- Participate in on-going in-service training - - - -
- Performs other duties as assigned to meet department and/or
business needsCommunity Living Specialist Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age -
- Bachelor's degree in a human services-related field; preferred
(may be substituted with a high school diploma or equivalent with
two years of experience working with individuals with developmental
disabilities)
- Experience working with developmentally disabled individuals;
preferred -
- Read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English well enough
to perform essential duties and responsibilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Communicate and work professionally and cooperatively with
others
- Successfully pass all post offer, pre-employment screening
requirements, including criminal background check, drug screening,
health screening, TB screening and provide proof of eligibility to
work in the United States
- Ability to run, push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to
fifty (50) pounds
- Valid and current proof of legal right to drive in California;
preferred, not required -With 40 programs and service sites
spanning several counties, Momentum is the largest nonprofit
