mission.We're looking for someone to join our team as an Infection
Preventions who:Performs surveillance, analysis, interpretation and
reporting of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI) and infection
prevention education. Writes and updates infection prevention
policies and procedures to insure compliance with regulatory
standards of The Joint Commission (TJC) Occupational Safety and
Health Administration (OSHA) Centers for Medicaid/Medicare Services
(CMS,) Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other
nationally organized agencies recommendations and requirements. Is
proficient in hospital epidemiology principles and is responsible
for the surveillance, analysis, interpretation and reporting of
hospital acquired infections.Essential Functions:
- Conducts surveillance and epidemiology reviews for
implementation of the surveillance plan for services provided and
populations served utilizing National HealthCare Safety Network
standard definitions to classify events, outcomes, and reports.
Provides reports to appropriate customers and key stakeholders for
significant findings and trends using epidemiologic principles with
analysis to drive change and improvement. Integrates surveillance
with improvement plans, existing regulations, national standards
and guidelines. Utilizes evidence based strategies to influence
practice. Shares knowledge and skills with others to highlight the
importance of evidence based strategies while bringing creativity
and innovation to practice to engage with the adult learner. Works
collaboratively with multiple levels of the organization including
physicians and executives to design prevention strategies using
performance improvement methods while aware of clinical and
financial implications. Maintains a knowledge base of current
Infection Prevention and Control information through networking,
literature review and professional meetings. Supports educational
programs to promote infection prevention measures across the
system. Shares published research findings to support and promote
best practice. Partners with local, state and federal regulatory
bodies to ensure surveillance, outbreaks and regulations are met.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.You'll be successful
with the following qualifications:Education:
- Bachelor's Degree (BSN) or equivalent combination of
education/related experience: RequiredWork Experience:
- Two years experience in acute care setting: PreferredRequired
Licenses/Certifications:
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support
certification: Preferred
- CIC Certification: Required within 3 years.
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in state of practice:
