Job Description Cortica is looking for a part-time Family Wellness Counselor to join its growing multi-disciplinary team in Glendale!

What will you do? First and foremost, this role is about being an extraordinary clinician. Compassion for this unique population and a dedication to upholding the highest standard of clinical care is essential. The position involves approximately 65% time in direct counseling (including initial assessments and follow up sessions) and 35% time is spent in team collaboration, care coordination (including intake, treatment planning).

The Family Wellness Counselor role includes the following responsibilities: Practicing from a Narrative and/or post-structural lens when working with children and families and when collaborating with team members from different disciplines (e.g. OT, speech, ABA, etc) Orienting families to Cortica'sapproach to comprehensive care for autism Evaluating client/family needs for counseling and assisting in the provisioning of thoughtful, family-focused plans for support Participating in family care meetings with other providers on a regular basis Circulating non-pathologizing, client-centered stories among Corticateam members and, at times, with outside providers. Includes capturing, documenting and cultivating a focus on the client's skills, knowledge, abilities, and developments Attending to relational ethics while collaborating with others in the interdisciplinary team and the families we serve. Actively engaging other team members to consider effects of recommendations, interactions with parents/caregivers/children, explorations of progress and sharing of information and ideas Attending Family Wellness Program group and individual meetings weekly Utilizing Narrative Therapy to deliver direct client counseling to families, couples, and children (patients and their siblings) Building then maintaining a full caseload of 25-30 sessions per week Complying with clinic policies and California BBS legal requirements by fostering practices that adhere to the standards of care and ethical guidelines, including confidentiality and mandated reporting Adhering to and supporting other team members adherence to organizational standards and policies Cultivating considerate and compassionate relational ethics within the organization for both team members and client families Interfacing with community services/resources and school systems and assisting families with transitions between in-clinic services and the community/school Maintaining clinic documentation in line with HIPAA standards and in a timely fashion This role provides clinicians with the opportunity to work with leaders in the field of child development and to broaden their clinical knowledge across disciplines through collaboration with master practitioners across neurological, sensorimotor, communication, and behavior therapies.

What are the required qualifications? Masters in Social Work, Marriage-Family Therapy, or Professional Clinical Counseling from an accredited program Registration with California BBS as an LMFT or LCSW Well-grounded and knowledgeable about postmodern/post-structural theory, social-constructionism and narrative approaches to psychotherapy Commitment to providing exceptional client care and using client feedback to improve care Open Minded desire to learn from other professional disciplines and knowledge bases as well as local knowledge of colleagues and families we serve 1+ year of experience working with children or families with developmental differences Excellent written and oral communication skills, both conversational and technical What are the desired qualities and interests we're seeking? Interest in nutrition and integrative medicine Willingness to be fully engaged in the creation of new models of care Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other neurodevelopmental differences Armenian speaking preferred #ZR
