Head of Talent & Organizational Development

Job Description:

As a key member of the People Leadership Team, the Director of Talent & Organizational Development is responsible for leading the Global Leadership and Talent & Organizational Development initiatives. This leader will partner closely with business leaders and HR Business Partners to oversee culture initiatives, HR change management, HR key projects, organizational design, team member training/development, and Diversity & Inclusion initiatives.

Lead, Innovate, Optimize:

  • Leads the organizational development and talent initiatives such as people development, performance management, talent assessment and succession planning activities
  • Analyses the organization, considering organization strategy, culture, leadership capabilities, structures, and processes to determine appropriate strategies to drive progress and change
  • Partners with HR and leaders across the organization to assess and develop organization talent
  • Facilitates training curriculum, coaching and team building and/or selects internal facilitators (train-the-trainer) for program delivery. Prepares leadership as teachers as part of continuous improvement/learning culture
  • Is a champion for innovation in the learning and development space; knows what best in class companies are doing and looks to integrate those best practices (e.g. gamification, web-based learning solutions)
  • Designs, develops and implements programs that strengthen team member knowledge and abilities, and improves leadership; develops training programs and collateral (i.e. web-based courses, instructor led, job-aids, videos) for delivery in a classroom, web-based, mobile devices, and/or blended learning environment
  • Manages Learning Management System (LMS) vendor and future LMS programs and content for the Company and the franchise system
  • Establishes consistent, optimized protocols for delivery to web-based, ILT or other solutions, learning evaluations and ROI, and establishes consistent and scalable content/programs
  • Ability and experience delivering learning and development projects that include an organizational development component - such as tying learning to career paths, leveraging development to engage team members, etc.

Experience/Requirements:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience including a proven track record of developing and delivering business impactful learning development and talent management programs
  • 5 years Managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience
  • Bachelor's degree required; Advanced degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources or related preferred
  • Deep experience in learning and development including adult learning principles, design processes, blended learning techniques, as well as web based and social learning
  • Experience in guiding leadership and project team members through a Change Management approach for implementation of new programs
  • Experience in leading and/or supporting Diversity & Inclusion company-wide initiatives and practices
  • Excellent presentation/facilitation skills
  • Ability to lead through influence in a matrixed environment and demonstrated ability to excel in a collaborative and team environment
  • Strong Project Management and delivery focused
  • Experience in progressive, fast pace and growing organizations
  • Experience with franchise business models a plus
