to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Chandler, Arizona, 85224!

Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP Must-Have: Experience with
C-sections Computer charting experience, preferably in Cerner
Description: Travelers must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to
accepting an offer. A minimum score of 80% is required, with a
maximum of two attempts. Failure to achieve the required score will
result in a DNU status for six months. Travelers will take a
pass/fail simulation lab assessment on day one. Study guides will
be provided. The unit consists of 18 labor, delivery, recovery, and
postpartum rooms. There are 14 OB triage beds and 8 antepartum
beds. The average number of deliveries is 8-10 per day. The unit
performs approximately 3863 deliveries per year. There are two
fully equipped operating rooms for C-sections. The unit aims to
follow AWHONN guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios. Numbers may
vary based on patient acuity but assignments are considered safe.
Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 2:1, with antepartum care at
4:1. For C-sections, the ratio is 1:1. The electronic medical
record system used is Cerner. Continuous fetal monitoring is
conducted via an EFM system. The unit has 13 charge nurses
available. Nurse aides are not present. Weekend shifts consist of 4
shifts per schedule. Call or standby is voluntary. Holiday coverage
is highly desired. Scrubs are blue in color. There is no telemetry
in the unit. There are no vents on the unit. An OB Hospitalist is
present at all times. An IV team is available if needed.
Respiratory therapy is accessible 24/7. Anesthesia services are
on-site 24/7. Respiratory therapy equipment is available. Pharmacy
services are operational 24/7. Night shifts are from 1900 to 0700.
Floating to other units may occur when necessary. Floor-specific
orientation lasts one week. Staff members must titrate drips per
protocol, including Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate. Common diagnoses
include laboring or preterm pregnant patients. Patients are
transferred to postpartum units after delivery. The facility is a
Level II EQ that accepts patients from 28 weeks gestation and
beyond. It also serves as a Level 1 Trauma Center. Travelers must
be able to confidently circulate and recover C-sections.
Cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled per
13-week assignment. Charting is conducted using Cerner. 5 Benefits
