Registered Nurse (RN) | Correctional Location: Eloy, AZ Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,038 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Registered Nurse Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: One (1) year of professional nursing experience preferred License: Must possess current licensure in the state of employment Certifications: A valid driver's license required Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) plans and provides comprehensive nursing care. This includes executing Licensed Independent Provider orders, dispensing and administering medications, and assisting with examinations and treatment of patients. The RN applies nursing and supervisory techniques required in the care and treatment of inmates/residents. They perform all technical and clinical procedures within the scope of their education and licensure. The RN attends sick call with the physician and prepares a list of inmates/residents to be examined. They prepare the examining room and equipment and operate pill call, dispensing medication and documenting as required. The RN calls Licensed Independent Providers for medication and treatment orders and responds to emergencies as needed. They examine and assess new inmates/residents with illnesses or injuries and refer them to emergency care when required. Emergency procedures are performed as needed, with notification to the Licensed Independent Provider for treatment orders. The RN assists in coordinating professional medical services provided by contract personnel and ensures their needs are addressed. They monitor inpatient hospitalizations for early releases whenever appropriate. The RN provides guidance, supervision, and monitoring of nursing care provided by licensed vocational/practical nursing staff and non-licensed medical staff. A good working relationship is maintained with other facility staff and contract providers. Established corporate and facility policies are utilized in decision-making, with independent judgment applied as needed. The RN evaluates the provision of medical services to prevent inappropriate use or duplication. They maintain security and confidentiality of all medical records. The RN assists in reviewing medical files to ensure all services provided are documented. Close monitoring of potential catastrophic illnesses is conducted. Pharmacy use is audited for adherence to required protocols. The RN observes and records inmate/resident behavior and inspects the medical unit for potential contraband. Health counseling and education are provided to inmates/residents on an individual or group basis. The RN assists in maintaining a variety of standard records, reports, and logs, ensuring timely processing of all documents. They read, analyze, and comprehend medical and technical procedures as well as governmental regulations. The RN reviews and processes lawsuits and attends court hearings when necessary. They facilitate compliance with relevant accreditation standards by providing efficient and appropriate medical services. Safety and accident reports are prepared as required, with appropriate actions taken in serious incidents or emergencies.
