Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Active Registered Nurse license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - 2 years of experience in ICU - BLS certification - ACLS certification - NIHSS certification Description: The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a combined intensive care unit setting. The role involves managing critically ill patients with various conditions. Common diagnoses include sepsis, respiratory distress, coronary artery disease, and acute renal failure. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:2. Patients will include adults and geriatric individuals. Charting will be done using Cerner electronic health record system. Scrub color should be any solid color, preferably navy blue. The position requires floating within the skill set, including possible float to medical-surgical units if needed. Special procedures performed may include intubations, bronchoscopy, sedation, EGD, colonoscopy, paracentesis, thoracentesis, placement of chest tubes, bedside lumbar punctures, and bedside tracheostomies. Common equipment utilized includes Philips monitors and spectrum pumps. Auxiliary help is available on the unit.
