Adventist Health Glendale also received its 11th consecutive A grade from patient safety organization The Leapfrog Group, the only hospital in Glendale or Burbank to receive the top grade.We're looking for someone to join our team as a Sr. Radiation Therapist who:Assists with dosimetric calculations, treatment planning, quality assurance and data input into system. Provides radiation in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist. Assists the department director in the day-to-day operations of the department. Serves as technical specialist on daily tasks and cases. Models/mentors and trains staff on technical skills. Essential Functions: Delivers the prescribed course of radiation therapy by checking prescription, diagnosis chart, and patient identification. Explains procedures to patient, means of communication during treatment, and basic treatment procedure. Delivers prescribed daily dose to patient, observing radiation safety measures for patient and personnel. Prepares room and equipment for patient according to prescription or simulation regarding immobilization devices, etc., transfers patient to treatment couch, giving attention to the special needs of the patient. Observes patients for unusual reactions and for signs and symptoms of developing complications during treatment, reporting reactions and complications to supervisor and department physician. Maintains a variety of records, including, records of daily treatment; maintains and regularly reviews patient charts to eliminate errors and to ensure that blood counts and special reports are properly recorded. Provides clinical supervision and evaluates students' practical ability to perform procedures. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.You'll be successful with the following qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree in radiation oncology or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelor's): Preferred Master's Degree: Preferred Work Experience: Three years radiation therapy experience: Preferred Required Licenses/Certifications: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Preferred Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy (AART) and certification of Therapeutic Radiology Technology (RTT) and the state of practice, Department of Health Services: RequiredAdventist Health is committed to the safety and wellbeing of our associates and patients. Medical and religious exemptions may apply.The estimated base pay for this position is $42.27/hr to $63.35/hr. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through years of experience, differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
