Job Description We are seeking highly dependable, mature, and reliable individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of our residents. Our Certified / Licensed Nursing Assistants provide personal care for our residents and help ensure a safe and healthful environment. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and current licensure as an Arizona Certified/Licensed Nursing Assistant and must have a genuine interest in and concern for geriatric, chronically ill, and/or disabled persons. All applicants must have excellent communication and people skills and the physical ability necessary to carry out all duties. Responsibilities Maintains regular attendance, which is necessary for the efficient operation of the business
Serves as an ambassador of goodwill to all potential and current residents and staff
Assists resident with and/or provides personal care to resident, including bathing, back and skin care, oral hygiene, and hair and nail care
Assists resident with and/or provides for resident's toileting needs, including bathroom, bedpan, urinal, incontinent brief, and bladder catheter care
Assists resident with and/or provides for resident's diet and nourishment, including transferring resident to appropriate eating location, preparing food for consumption, and feeding, if necessary
Maintains a clean and safe environment at all time, including making beds, keeping resident areas neat and tidy, and monitoring entire work environment to keep free of clutter and safety hazards
Assists resident with and/or provides for turning and repositioning residents, utilizing good body mechanics
Demonstrates courteous and respectful verbal and physical interactions with residents, physicians, family members of residents, visitors, and other staff
Demonstrates respect for resident by maintaining resident's dignity, providing privacy, and abiding by the resident's Bill of Rights
Documents residents' activities of daily living
Attends in-services and staff meetings as required by facility policy
Demonstrates ability to monitor and record resident vital signs and assists with admission process
Takes direction from nursing supervisor and performs all duties of a Certified/Licensed Nursing Assistant competently and with a positive and cooperative attitude
Answers all call lights within sight and hearing in an expedient manner
Greets all visitors in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner and provides information and guidance
Transfers residents safely using Gait belt for all transfers (except mechanical lifts) and demonstrates the use of good body mechanics
Performs other duties as may be assigned Qualifications High School diploma or GED
Current Arizona Certified/Licensed Nursing Assistant state licensure
Must possess excellent human relations and communication skills to ensure effective working relationships, specifically with older adults
Must practice within the laws and guidelines established by the Arizona State Board of Nursing
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills in order to give and receive reports on resident condition and report and document resident vital signs and activities of daily living
Must be able to establish and maintain rapport with staff, residents, resident families, and visiting doctors
Must be able to maintain composure under pressure
Must maintain a professional appearance at all times
Must have a genuine interest in and concern for geriatric, chronically ill, and/or disabled persons
Must be able to communicate fluently and take or give direction or guidance in the English language
Must be in good physical and mental condition in order to walk long distances; reach, bend, stoop, or crouch; and lift, move, and transport a minimum of 50 pounds
Must have good manual dexterity and the ability to speak clearly with other individuals either directly or by telephone
Must have a positive mental condition demonstrating self-control in stressful situations and a cooperative attitude
