The Role at a Glance
As a Consultant, Product Development, you will consult, create, and
deliver Individual Life Insurance products to key stakeholders. You
will also act as a resource to appropriate stakeholders which
requires an individual who can interact comfortably across the
organization - through written and verbal communication. You will
also work on many complex assignments and projects within Life
Business Management activities for the business line and functional
area. #LI-REMOTE
What you'll be doing
Advises and serves as a resource providing information for
currently sold product questions, including understanding how all
aspects of the product touch and interact with different areas of
the organization.
Develops and implements more complex new products, functionality,
and riders for assigned areas of responsibility.
Independently designs, creates, and maintains more complex product
specifications for use by internal and external stakeholders in
support of new product implementation and changes to currently sold
products.
Serves as representative for product development / implementation
initiatives.
Partners with leadership to provide more complex product technical
knowledge and help drive decisions during all phases of product
development and implementation.
Identifies meeting needs and organizes/conducts meetings with
appropriate internal stakeholders as needed to discuss and vet new
features and concepts.
Drives meetings and communications in order to ensure deliverables
are made on time and new activities start at the appropriate time
frames in order to meet deliverables.
Partners with leadership to provide walk-throughs of more complex
product specs and respond to more complex technical questions from
implementation teams.
Evaluates and reviews more complex contract wording, prospectus
language, marketing, and sales materials for technical
accuracy.
Trains various audiences on more complex product and product
functionality
Plans effectively for changing business priorities and prioritizes
work on multiple projects.
Prepares product requests forms, BWR and other project change forms
as needed.
Independently gathers requirement for new, more complex spreadsheet
functionality and works with actuaries to make sure all necessary
coding changes are made and tested.
Presents options and tradeoffs under consideration in new product
development and gathers input on new product development ideas.
Identifies and organizes appropriate internal stakeholders to
discuss and vet new features and concepts as needed.
Proactively anticipates, prepares for, and takes action on future
business-related opportunities.
Works with supervisor to provide product technical direction and
expertise and help drive decisions during all phases of product
development and implementation.
What we're looking for
Must-haves:
3 - 5+ Years of Customer Service, Sales, or Product Development
experience with integral knowledge of life insurance products
4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
FINRA Series License 6 - 180 days upon hire
Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal
communication skills
Demonstrates flexibility to think and respond immediately with
confidence.
Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid
conclusions.
Demonstrates strong relationship management skills with internal
clients (e.g. management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to
develop collaborative approaches.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to travel 2-3 times per year.

Pay Range: $65,700 - $118,300
Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors
including but not limited to work experience, education, location,
licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for
the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln's total
rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be
eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary
and based on the performance of the company, business unit and
individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales
incentives and Lincoln's standard benefits package.
