Job Summary:Disney Streaming encompasses the team's leading the Disney+, Star+, ESPN+ and Hulu streaming services within the Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution group. To succeed, you should be excited about scaling a business and have an entrepreneurial spirit that will thrive upon the legacy of our company yet embrace innovative thinking and our evolving industry landscape.Summary of the Role:As a Principal Platform Technology & Process Manager, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of optimization programs involving technology across all operational areas of business.You will define process requirements, establish operational best practices and standards, and design and implement efficient, scalable, cost-effective transformations in the content and marketing operations areas. You will also define frameworks for managing new business priorities and define inter-team operating models and capabilities required to scale globally.Responsibilities

  • Serve as the focal point for development, iteration, and implementation of one or more new content planning and marketing operations processes and refinement/improvement of existing processes required for scaling and sustaining the Disney Streaming brand and product
  • Own a curated backlog of business goals tied to technology and process initiatives which enhance the Disney Streaming Content and Marketing Operations ecosystem
  • Design workflows and process maps based on current state and desired future state business goals
  • Collaborate with business and technology teams to lead and drive the development of scalable tools and solutions in support of all content and marketing operational activities, with a focus on supply chain
  • Define non-functional requirements for solutions and technical components required to support business outcomes, in collaboration with technology teams
  • Drive backlog alignment and prioritization, attend sprint planning sessions and drive UAT as necessary to ensure technology solutions are delivered and adopted
  • Effectively lead cross-functional meetings by planning, documenting decisions and following up
  • Provide analytical, data driven insight into the current state supply chain and recommend process and technological improvements that help realize business goals at scale
  • Support net new requests from Product teams and facilitate their integration into the pipeline
  • Lead definition and execution of new tools & processes adoption/roll-out plans related to content, supply chain, and marketing activities, ensuring adherence to new SOPs and best practices
  • Build suite of key metrics, KPIs and operational reporting to aide cross-functional teams in title readiness awareness and identify areas for further operational refinement and improvement - - -

  • Support development of program management skills within the team and establish best practices playbook that evolves with changing business needsBasic Qualifications
    • Minimum of 10+ years digital supply chain and/or technical solutions experience leading multiple concurrent initiatives with 3+ years of leadership experience
    • BA/BS or equivalent experience required & Project Management certificate preferred
    • Experience working with business, product, operational and technical teams
    • Experience leading and managing business, product and operational teams
    • Equally comfortable with accountability to roll up your sleeves and get things done, as well as thinking long-term and strategically about the transformations that will drive our business
    • Master knowledge and experience with go-to-market life cycles for consumer-facing content or product; experience in streaming service preferred
    • In-depth experience executing both Agile and Waterfall software development methodologies
    • Excellent professional writing skills and are able to provide verbal explanations of status and technical issues with precision and accuracy
    • Experience in a senior management-facing role, with a track record of delivering process improvement in a complex, matrixed environment, managing multiple International and cross-functional stakeholders -
    • Demonstrated tenacity, comfortable with ambiguity and driving the creation and management of goals for direct reports
    • Experience working with technology and marketing teams to drive cross-functional results and Go-To-Market activities
    • A focus on collaborating and building consensus to achieve outstanding results, and the ability to build exceptional internal relationships and influence a wide range of audiences
    • Deep affinity with Disney content, brands, and IP and familiarity with the content production and distribution process
    • Understanding of program management processes and methodologies for governance and tracking including one or more recognised current project management certifications (IAMP, PMP, MPM, CSM, BCS etc.)
    • Technical literacy and aptitude to apply qualitative and quantitative data in decision-making
    • Expert software tools capabilities. Presentations: Keynote, Powerpoint, Google Slides; Modelling/diagramming: Visio, Omni Graffle and/or Lucidchart; Project Management: Airtable, Confluence, Jira, and Smartsheets.
    • Knowledge of MovieLabs Digital Distribution Framework (MDDF), Common Metadata, Common Manifest, EIDR, EMA Avails and component-based delivery
    • Extensive understanding with the digital content supply chain framework, video and audio formats, data flow, distribution methodology and streaming technologies
    • A personal affinity for the brands and franchises of The Walt Disney CompanyRequirements
      • BA/BS in business, computer science, other business/tech field or equivalent work experience
      • MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferredThe hiring range for this position in New York is $169,660 to $219,560 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
