Job Description:

On-site Required this is not a digital product design role, this is product design for hardlines / toy products The Associate Product Design Manager is responsible for the day-to-day execution of product design and development of animation & parks vertical products from concept through to production. You will collaborate with all key internal and external partners to ensure the highest quality, consumer focused, trend-right product lines that build brand equity and deliver best in class experiences for the guest. Product focus is on a broad range of toy categories including dolls, play sets, role play items, games, puzzles, and collector products. These products will vary in complexity in 2D and 3D form and some will incorporate electronic and mechanical features. This role will report to Senior Manager, Product Design. Responsibilities: Concept, design, sketch, prototype ideas to communicate thinking to internal and external partners Follow through with clear and concise design direction through draw-overs and creative notes that guide partners to develop accurately. A solid understanding of manufacturing and costing challenges in the development of product. Develop and design product mock-ups, compile line sheets for line reviews, layout creative presentations, and retail pitch decks Collaborate with packaging partners to ensure the correct representation of product is present in packaging. Reviewing functional call-outs, correct piece count is noted, layout of item pieces or photography that showcases products in the best light. Develop collaborative relationships with 3rd Party Content Providers to ensure prompt product feedback and approvals for licensing partners. Identify new toy/collectible concepts that can be developed, which attain marketplace needs Understand global trends in toys and toyetic categories that translate into commercially viable product ideas Participate in cross-functional team meetings, kick-off calls and brainstorms, share best practices with team members and when applicable, the broader organization Ability to shift priorities quickly, to meet the needs of a constantly changing business Monitor competitors, product innovation and market dynamics Initiative to continually update current level of expertise Entrepreneurial and innovative thinker who embraces change and takes on new challenges Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree, preferably in industrial design, product design or graphic design 4 years product design/development experience required Experience with 3D development and manufacturing of toys and/or collectibles Strong communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills and the ability to provide thoughtful, clear, creative art direction to partners and vendors Exhibit interest and knowledge of current consumer and industry trends Demonstrate understanding of features and play pattens in the toy industry, and how these are meaningfully applied to product Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic, deadline driven environment that revolves around multiple product development calendars Advanced skills in Adobe and Microsoft applications required Portfolio demonstrating strong design excellence and superior problem solving Required Education: Bachelors, or equivalent work experienceClient DescriptionThis legendary company has entertained, informed and inspired people around the globe for over 90 years.
