Striping Technician provides for the safe and efficient movement of
vehicular and pedestrian traffic through the installation and
maintenance of roadway pavement markings and documentation of those

- One year of experience in traffic control or traffic
operations, including installation and maintenance of traffic
control devices, or two years of experience in the maintenance,
repair, or construction of roads
- High School diploma or GED
- American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) Flagging
certificationWe Also Value
- Experience driving a Paint Stripe Truck and/or a Chase
Truck
- Completion of IMSA level 1 Signs & Markings
- Completion of "ATSSA Flagger" and "ATSSA Traffic Control
Technician
- Class A CDL with tanker endorsementJob Contributions
- Install and maintain roadway pavement markings
- Operate a 2 ton paint stripe truck, chase truck, or other
vehicles as needed
- Load and unload equipment and materials
- Perform pre-check and pre-inspection of vehicles
- Read maps, plan routes, prioritize assigned tasks, clean, and
maintain the paint system
- Interpret and/or draw traffic diagrams and/or sketches of
pavement marking layouts
- Interpret and mark roadways for the application of the
appropriate roadway markings
- Assess and report roadway and traffic control conditions
- Operate and maintain two-way radio contact with MCDOT

- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona
driver's license by the time of hire

significant degree

- Incumbent may be subjected to extreme temperatures,
wetness/humidity, respiratory hazards, and noise and vibration
- Incumbent may be subjected to moving mechanical parts,
vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, poor, ventilation, chemicals,
oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace

- Long line stripers, attenuators, short line stripers, pickup
trucks, hauling trucks, paint shakers, computer systems, Outlook,

- Steel toe boots, hard Hat, gloves, safety glasses, Type 3
