Multiple opportunities are available,depending on experience level.Key Job CharacteristicsProvide business driven engineering solutions for local design and manufacturing of products for space & defense applications such as momentum control, guidance & navigation, control systems, etc.Provide leadership and individual contribution for materials engineering projectsBe responsible for program level activities and requirement compliancePersonal management of many concurrent task assignmentsSpecific types of engineering activities include but are not limited to:Provide recommendations for various issues arising during manufacturingVerify performance and environmental requirement compliancePreparation of materials engineering inputs to proposals and other customer reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR, MRR)Development of material and process control plans and other types of contractual deliverables such as non-standard approval requests (e.g., MUA, NSMAR, PMPR), contamination/corrosion control plans, etc.Creation of Materials Identification and Usage ListsOwnership of material and procurement specificationsM&P authority for drawing review & sign-offMust Have:Bachelor of Science Degree in one of the following:Materials ScienceOther physical science degreeEngineeringMinimum 2-years' experience in applying materials engineering knowledge to solve design and manufacturing problemsDue to export control laws, must have US CitizenshipWe Value:Bachelor of Science Degree with strong focus in materials and may include Metallurgical, Polymer, Ceramic, or related degreesDirect experience in an aerospace or high reliability design and manufacturing environmentDirect experience with design and applications using military/aerospace industry specificationsDirect experience leading a cross-functional team to accomplish various sizes of projectsExperience in special process areas such as heat treatment, forging, plating, painting, conformal coating, PB/PBA/Cable & HarnessStrong focus on task completion with honorable commitmentsStrong demonstrated ability to use business driven mindset to solve wide variety of engineering problemsDemonstrates strong teamwork characteristicsDemonstrated strong personal workload management and executionThrives in a dynamic and changing environmentReadily self-corrects personal performanceWorks independently with minimal work directionExcellent communication skills - verbal and writtenStrong computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel, Word, Project This position offers a Hybrid work schedule, which may be discussed and arranged with the Manager.
