Job Description
SCOPE OF WORK: The Resettlement & Placement program at the IRC
Phoenix provides educational services to new arrival adult clients
to enhance integration. This internship position is primarily
responsible for tracking and recording attendance, referrals,
progress, and other such data points utilizing Microsoft products,
digital platforms, and physical filing systems to ensure outcomes
are achieved and reported appropriately. The data tracking covers
educational workshops, including cultural orientation, job
readiness training, transit training instruction, and English
language classes. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Track and record attendance in ETO database platform
- Record Cultural Orientation and Job Readiness Training
assessment scores
- Update Client Data Sheet
- Verify all documents are uploaded in client file
- Confer with Adult Education Team
- Call clients to remind them of upcoming classe
- Other relevant program duties, as assignedLEARNING OUTCOMES:
Intern will obtain substantial knowledge of the resettlement
process an adult refugee goes through in order to adjust to life in
the United States. Intern will also learn new data platforms
specifically focusing on refugee resettlement and have the
opportunity to connect and communicate with new arrivals on a
weekly basis to ensure the completion of services.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to obtain and AZ Level One Fingerprint Clearance
Card
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination
- Computer proficiency with an emphasis on Microsoft Office
applications (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook)
- Previous experience working with refugees or other diverse
populations preferred
- Cross-cultural understanding and strong communication
skills
- Ability to work with interpreters
- Highly organized self-starter with success prioritizing
multiple tasks
- Ability to prepare accurate and timely case notes, reports, and
assessments for timely documentationNote: This is an unpaid
internship. Intern must commit to at least 10-15 hours per week for
a 5-month minimum. Internship hours are completed between Monday
and Friday from 9:00 AM-5:00 PMThis position reports to the
Cultural Orientation Coordinator.IRC leading the way from harm to
